Summer vacations!  Summer travel and all the reunions, weddings, graduations, and more!  I hadn't realized before that July and August can be as hard on your wellness goals at November and December.      There is truth in this humor!!

Some days are scale victories, but some are not.  Don't be discouraged if you are following the plan and the scale is a bit stubborn or jumpy. Keep on following with exactness.  It works!  It will work for you too!   Today is a bad scale day for me.  I followed perfectly yesterday, and even walked 15,000 steps and today the scale was up 2.6 pounds.  I KNOW I didn't gain weight, but it can play with your motivation.  Trust the program and trust our coaches to encourage and help you succeed!    Bren

Summer tips!!  

WATER!  Be sure to drink enough!  The sun and the higher temps will dry you out before you realize it.  Drink water for the best hydration.  You can add some cucumber, lemon or lime to add a little flavor if you would prefer.  Drink BEFORE you are thirsty

Vacations and special events can be a challenge.  You can be successful by planning ahead and making sure there are foods handy that you can have.  If you do go off of your program, just believe in yourself and get right back on.  There is no failure until you stop trying. 

Get outside!  The nice weather is good for the body and the soul.  While on Ideal Protein you don't want to do hard core strenuous activity, but you do want to move and be generally active.  Low intensity activity of any duration will help to burn fat!  Get out to a park or work in your yard, or go catch some Pokemon!  (Go team Blue...)  

Most important!  Love yourself at every weight, and love yourself enough to reach your health goals.  We care and are here to help you!

Day 44 of 100

After losing 87 pounds in early 2010, I have let my weight creep back up.  I liked living in denial.  I swear that I could look in the mirror and think  "I still look pretty good".  At first most of my clothes still fit, then some, then fewer.  I added items to my closet, and didn't want to face the fact that I had gained back about 45 lbs.   Half of my weight was back.  

I played with the ideal protein diet---almost doing it.  As we all know--if you alter the program, you alter the results.  I didn't get the results that I should have, but liked to fool myself into thinking I was making progress, even though slow.....  

So this April, we went to Seattle as an Ideal Protein team.  I HATED when I saw the pictures!  I had lost 15 lbs or so in 9 months, but had a good 30 lbs or more of extra weight.  How can I lead this amazing team if I am the heavy one?!?  

So, I embarked on a serious journey.  100 days of super strict Ideal Protein protocol.  I will do exactly 100 days.  If the program works like it is supposed to, I will be down the 30 pounds that I need to lose.  It has not been easy.  It will be worth it!

I am at day 44.  I have had pancake breakfasts, parties, graduations, out of town company, and have baked cookies for children who came to see me. Both a son and husband with birthdays, my mom was briefly hospitalized, and other stresses and craziness have not stayed at bay.  Life doesn't stop while we diet!  But guess what?!?!  When you stick with it, you get the results.  I am down 18 lbs so far, and people are noticing the weight loss.  I guess that means that they had noticed the weight gain---I was only fooling myself. 

On Monday 06/15--I will be at day 50.  Halfway there!   Ideal Protein does work.  It is not a vaccine against obesity.  It will not stop me from going back to old bad habits.  I am learning along with everyone else.  We all can learn to healthy and stay there!

VIP Weight Loss Services

Tonight I am getting to lead our Ideal Protein information Seminar.  I haven't done one in over a year, and will probably make a few mistakes by getting things out of order.  It will still be FUN!  I love helping people to learn how to lose weight and feel great.   It is hard to believe that it has been 5 years since I was on my major weight loss journey.  I still remember how hard it was to be 255 lbs.  I hated not being able to buy clothes in the normal clothing department--and in being full of anxiety about how I looked.  It was awful to travel for my job and to think that the person who was beside me on the plane was unhappy that they were sitting by a "large" woman.  It was hard to present myself in the medical field as a software and management consultant when I knew my own health was out of control. 

So tonight, I will meet some new people.  Maybe they only have a little weight to lose to feel better and wear cute clothes for the summer.  They might have many pounds to lose and have a longer journey ahead to find better health.  Either way, it is wonderful to be here to show them it can be done, and to have such a great staff to support them as they work the protocol.  

All in all----and great way to spend part of an evening!
